T20 World Cup 2024: Latest Info On Match Schedules, Venues, And Live Streaming

T20 World Cup 2024 will start on June 1 in the US and June 2 in India. The ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will see 40 matches. Also, it is the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup that 20 teams will participate in the tournament. T20 World Cup began in 2007 and India was the first crowned champion of the tournament.

T20 World Cup 2024 League Stage

ICC has divided the 20 participating teams into four equal groups for the first stage of the tournament. Two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8 or the second stage of the tournament. Here it is interesting to note that the Super 8 teams will be selected on their pre-determined overall ranking instead of their league positions. It will provide the teams an advantage of past performance.

League Stage Groups

Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, United States, Canada
Group B: Australia, England, Namibia, Oman, Scotland
Group C: Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Uganda, West Indies
Group D: Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka

T20 World Cup Super 8

The qualifying teams will be split into two groups for the Super 8 single-round robin league that will see two teams from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.

Following is the Super 8 format according to pre-determined seedings of the participating teams

Group 1: India (A1); Australia (B2); New Zealand (C1); Sri Lanka (D2)
Group 2: Pakistan (A2); England (B1); West Indies (C2); South Africa (D1)

T20 World Cup Venues

United States

The US will host 16 matches in New York, Texas, and Florida. But all eyes will be on New York which will play 8 matches including India and Pakistan.

West Indies

Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago will host 39 T20 World 2024 matches including the final at Barbados on June 29.
